Even the darkest corners of a garden can be considered and beautiful, and Soto Deep Shade shows exactly how to achieve this. Designed as a complete shade garden border, this layered green and white planting scheme brings structure and softness to spaces that see little or no direct light, from narrow side returns to north facing beds.
Each pre-designed border comes complete with a planting plan, so you know exactly where to position every plant for the best effect, taking the guesswork out of planting for shade.
The wide collections are suitable for borders approximately 1 to 1.5m deep, front to back.

SOTO GARDENS EDITS AND COLLECTIONS: Soto deliver nationwide for all plants, standard size pots and accessories via our courier partner, DPD within 3-10 working days. You will receive an email asking you to schedule your delivery day. XL pots are delivered in 10-15 working days. Delivery is free for all orders over £75. For orders under £75, we charge £6. Soto Guests, including BIG GREEN EGG, GARDEN TRADING and FLOWERBX are delivered in accordance with their T&C’s. Please see our delivery and returns page for more information. This Soto Deep Shade collection has been chosen to thrive without direct sunlight, making it perfect for the darkest corners of a garden.

Easy
This is a low maintenance plant collection. For individual plant care and guidance scan the QR codes on the plant pots when they arrive. There you will find specific plant profile pages for each plant in your delivery.
Watering
Regularly
These plants all enjoy a good drink when being planted. For specific watering requirements, refer to their plant profile pages.
Feeding
Compost and Feed
Plant with a good quality, peat free compost. Certain plants may enjoy a liquid feed fertiliser once or twice a year. Make sure you scan the QR code on the side of the pot to learn all about your new plants.
Soil
Tolerates most soil types
All Soto borders have been designd to flourish in most soil types. Extreme soil varieties may not encourage growth. Visit the Soto Journal for more advice on extreme soil conditions.
Will's styling notes
Will Williams brings his vibrant and fresh design aesthetic along with his horticultural expertise to Soto. He was the youngest ever RHS Young Designer of the Year and has gone on to win several RHS medals at major UK garden shows. Below he explains the thinking behind the collection.
Euphorbia robbiae, commonly known as Mrs Robb's Bonnet, anchors the scheme, its evergreen foliage bringing structure and height year round, with acid green flower bracts appearing from April through June to lift the border in spring. Ostrich Fern and Japanese Lace Fern build a textured backdrop behind it, their fronds unfurling from spring and holding structure and greenery well into autumn, layering contrasting heights and leaf shapes for a playful mix of greens. Geranium 'Album' flowers from late spring into summer, its white blooms placed with care to bring softness and calm to the border.
Focusing on a layered palette of green with touches of white, the Soto Deep Shade collection proves that even the shadiest spaces can be considered and beautiful.
