The Boston Fern, also known as Nephrolepis exaltata, is native to tropical and subtropical regions, including Florida, Mexico, and South America.

The Boston Fern has been a popular houseplant for many years. Its use in indoor gardening can be traced back to the 19th century. The fern gained particular popularity during the Victorian era, when indoor plants became fashionable, and elaborate ferneries were created.

Over time, various cultivars and varieties of the Boston Fern have been developed, each with its unique characteristics.

Boston Ferns remain a classic choice for indoor and shaded outdoor environments due to their beauty and relatively easy care.
