Key information

Acer Katsura is one of the most colourful Japanese maples through the year. In spring its new leaves open a soft peachy orange edged with pink, a lovely contrast to the fresh green of the garden. Through summer they turn a calm, fresh green, before glowing bright orange again in autumn. It has a neat, upright shape and grows slowly, so it is a beautiful choice for a large pot on a terrace, a courtyard or as a feature within a border.

Top Tip

Give Acer Katsura a spot with morning sun and some shade in the afternoon. This brings out the best spring colour and protects the delicate young leaves from scorching on hot days.
