English Maidenhair Fern
The English Maidenhair Fern appears to be delicate and cute but once established is very hardy. The long fronds are made up of black stems with small, light green leaves. This plant adds a gentle and lacy texture to your garden scheme.
Awarded the prestigous Award of Garden of Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society, the English Maidenhair Fern is a great option for shady groundcover.
How to care
Happiest in shade but tolerates partial shade.
Remove dried up fronds at the base of the plant to ensure this fern is always looking its best.
Remember it is better to give large, less frequent drinks.
Plant with a good quality, peat free compost. Throughout the spring and summer feed with a liquid fertiliser to boost growth.
Make sure the soil is well drained but damp.
