The Bay Tree is perfect for positioning by the front door. A sign of good luck, the dark leaves of the Laurus nobilis are used in the kitchen for sauces, curries and as part of a bouquet garni. The Bay can also provide small yellow-greenish flowers in spring and berries in autumn.
Please note: The Bay Tree can only be hand delivered within London and the Home Counties.
Prune twice during the summer to retain shape.
How to care for Bay Tree
The Bay Tree thrives in both sun and partial positions.
Water regularly and prune twice a year once established. Be patient with the Bay Tree, it is a slow grower.
Don't allow the soil to become dry.
Plant with a good quality, peat free compost. Add a layer every spring to ensure nutrients feed through to the roots.
Ensure the soil is well drained. When planting add a drainage medium, such as grit or crocs, to encourage better drainage.
