Bay Tree & Ivy
The Bay Tree and Ivy combination is a classic for good reason. Low maintenance and evergreen, this pairing adds gravitas to your front doorstep.
How to care
The Bay Tree and Ivy both thrive in the sun and can tolerate part of the day in the shade.
Water regularly. Once established, prune the Bay Tree twice a year, to maintain desired shape. Be patient with the Bay Tree, it is a slow grower. Ivy can handle more frequent trimming.
Little and often. Both the Ivy and the Bay Tree like moist soil.
Plant with a good quality, peat free compost and add a layer every spring to ensure nutrients feed through to the roots.
Ensure the soil is well drained. When planting add a drainage medium, such as grit or crocs, to encourage better drainage.
